Dr. Lauren Sweeney’s family has deep roots in central Texas. Growing up in Austin, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas in 1998. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree with high honors in 2002 from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. After spending 17 years in private family practice in north Texas, she is pleased to return to San Antonio to continue providing high quality dental services with a friendly attitude.
As a self proclaimed “dentist who is afraid of the dentist”, Dr. Sweeney goes above and beyond to offer an empathic, comforting approach for her patients. She has a passion for creating beautiful smiles. In addition to restorative procedures, she has provided comprehensive orthodontic care to children and adults since 2008. Through the years, Dr. Sweeney has received awards and certifications from the Southwest Prosthodontic Society, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Orthodontic Society. Eager to keep up with the latest techniques and materials, Dr. Sweeney attends continuing education with AOS, AGD, and other organizations every year.
Dr. Sweeney is a proud parent to daughter Julienne at Texas A&M University and son Ford at Churchill High School. She enjoys volunteering in the children's ministry in her local church, whether on stage, in the classroom, or with D-Now and other activities. She is an avid tennis player, competing each year in state and national USTA tournaments. She loves cooking for her family, painting portraits and cityscapes, and partaking in all kinds of fitness activities.
